A cake smash session is a fun and joyful way to celebrate your baby’s first birthday! It typically includes a themed setup where your baby gets to enjoy smashing and eating a cake, all while being photographed to capture their adorable reactions and moments.
What is included in the Cake Smash Session package?
 
All our packages are fully customizable.
The base session listed on our website includes the minimum order and number of people for each shoot. You can add from our list of additional services, such as professional makeup and hairstyling, extra setups, and beautiful dresses from our studio collection. Most clients opt for 20-30 edited images, but all extras are entirely optional and tailored to your needs.

Your BASE PACKAGE includes:

100 color-corrected images.
These images have undergone basic adjustments for brightness, contrast, and color but are not fully edited. The jpg files will be available for high-resolution download. If you plan to print or use these images on social media, we recommend ordering full editing for a polished finish.

Fully edited images.
After your session, you will receive your gallery and can select your favorite images and send to us. These selected images will be fully edited, focusing on details like smoothing the newborn’s skin and enhancing the overall aesthetic of the image. Each image will be carefully hand edited by us and send back to you. Cost of one edited image is 100$. You can choose any number of images you like for editing.

The session typically lasts 1 hour and takes place in our Fairfax studio or at your preferred location.

What if I am late for my photoshoot?
 
We allow a 15-minute grace period. If you are 30 minutes late but would still like to continue the session, there will be an additional $150 fee, payable on the same day. If you are more than 40 minutes late, we reserve the right to cancel the session without a refund. To avoid delays, especially when bringing small children, we recommend allowing extra time in the morning to prepare and accounting for potential traffic by planning an additional 30 minutes.
Can I add an extra outfit or setup?
 
Yes! You can customize your session with:

One outfit change: $100
Additional setup: $200

This adds variety and creativity to your cake smash photos, allowing for different looks and themes.

Yes, family members can be included for an additional cost of $100 per person. These sweet moments with siblings or parents are perfect for capturing the love and excitement of the whole family during your baby’s special day.
Can I order a cake for the session?
 
Yes, we offer the option to order a cake for your cake smash session, starting at $250. We work with a talented baker who can create gluten-free, egg-free, and other allergen-friendly cakes. The design can be completely customized to match your theme.
Can I get my makeup and hair done before the session?
 
Yes, we offer professional makeup and hairstyling services for $350. This ensures you look and feel your best throughout the session.
What should my baby wear for the Cake Smash?
 
We recommend dressing your baby in a fun and festive outfit. We provide adorable baby outfits for an additional fee of $50. You may also want to bring a second outfit for post-cake photos, as things can get messy!
How long does it take to receive the images?
 
It typically takes two weeks to receive your full gallery of unedited images, and an additional five days for the edited images. Please plan accordingly, especially if you plan to use the photos for invitations or keepsakes.
Can we get our images faster?
 
Yes, we offer an expedited service for an additional fee of $200. With this option, you'll receive your images within three working days.
Can I get my images fully edited?
 
Yes! Additional images can be fully edited for $100 per image. This ensures your photos are professionally polished and ready for sharing or printing.
What if we get more than 100 images?
 
If we capture more than 100 images during your session, you have the option to purchase additional unedited images for $10 per image. If you'd like to review all the images individually and decide which ones to keep, you can schedule an additional consultation via Zoom or in person for $250 for 30 minutes. Alternatively, you can review the images directly on the camera right after the session at no extra cost.
What about prints and albums?
 
We offer high-quality prints and albums to preserve your cake-smash memories:

12x12 album with 10 edited images (album only): $1000
16x24 print (canvas, acrylic, or metal): $800
Are photos and videos on my phone allowed?
 
If you wish to take photos or videos with your phone during the session, the photographer will grant you the time and space to capture your own images. However, the professional session will immediately stop, and no refund will be provided. Please note that this ensures the integrity and quality of the professional experience we offer.

How to Prepare for a Cake Smash Session?
